Using the Spotter Scope

The scope is mounted on a ‘pan and tilt’ head.

If the scope is moved without using the head properly it may become loose,

so please follow the instructions below.

The tripod height can be adjusted using the clamps on the legs.

It’s often easier to find an object on low power and then zoom in if you want

Zoom: twist the eyepiece clockwise and anti-clockwise to zoom in and out.

Please don’t use too much force – this could unscrew the eyepiece from the scope

Focus: twist the large rubber ring on the barrel of the scope.

You will probably need to adjust the focus if you change the magnification

To pan the scope horizontally: loosen the knurled knob on the side of the mount.

Tighten again to steady the scope if needed.

To tilt the scope vertically: twist the handle which lies under the eyepiece to loosen.

Tighten again to steady the scope if needed.

Please try not to get fingerprints on the lenses – they will affect the image quality!
